Thunder and Rain is a Newgrass string band based in Nashville. They weave together bluegrass instruments with award-winning songwriting. Inspired by pop, country, classic rock and old time, their soaring three part harmony supports the band's sing-along choruses, imagine-rich lyricism, and rhythmic drive. In their decade-long career, they’ve shared the stage with Peter Rowan, Billy Strings, The Kruger Brothers, Brothers Comatose and AJ Lee and Blue Summit. The band features stunning vocals and guitar by Erinn Peet Lukes, rolling banjo by Laura Ray, thunderous fiddle from Amelia Ransom, and Andy Brown holding down the upright bass.
“The Nashville Indie and Bluegrass songstress and her band are among today's rising bluegrass acts. ” - Jason Young
“There are some great songs on [Passing in the Night] and despite posing the question as to which genre it falls under at the start of this review, it soon becomes clear that labels don’t actually matter as it’s just consistently good music.” - Jim Finnie
